Staff and students at The Hundred of Hoo Academy are immensely proud of this summer’s GCSE and vocational results, which have seen the academy’s Attainment 8 score soar to 43.24; over 42% of grades were at 5 or above, and over 41% were at grade 7 or above.

Reflecting on this significant achievement, Principal, Carl Guerin-Hassett paid tribute to the hard work of the year 11 cohort, and the determination and dedication of the academy’s teaching and pastoral community:

We recognised back in June last year that this group of young people had the potential to excel, and we really raised the bar for them, timetabling an additional lesson for them every day, making revision during school holidays for some students compulsory, and even reorganising form times so that every student had a subject-specialist to guide them, daily, towards their end goals.  All credit is due to the class of 2025, who very much rose to the challenge we set for them.

“Our pastoral team has worked relentlessly to support families, to provide resources and encourage our students to be the very best they can.  We are proud of all our year 11s and their amazing achievements, and wish them the very best for their next steps, which for many of them will be here with us at Hoo.

“This group joined HOH at the same time as myself and it has been a pleasure to see them flourish over their five years.”
