IB Middle Years Programme

Leigh Academy Hundred of Hoo is proud to be an authorised International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP) school, a status we have held since August 2022.

The IB MYP forms the core of our Key Stage 3 curriculum, providing a rigorous and internationally minded framework that develops students as confident, reflective, and independent learners. Its principles also continue to underpin learning across Key Stages 4 and 5, ensuring consistency, challenge, and a commitment to holistic education throughout every stage of a student’s journey with us.

As part of the global IB World School community—now over 4,700 schools worldwide—we share a common philosophy: a commitment to improving teaching and learning for a diverse and inclusive community of students by delivering challenging, high-quality programmes of international education with a powerful vision for the future.

What the MYP offers students:

At Leigh Academy Hundred of Hoo, the Middle Years Programme (MYP) is central to our vision of developing young people who are More Than Just Educated.

The MYP ignites curiosity, builds confidence, and nurtures internationally minded learners who are ready to make a positive difference in the world. It encourages students to empathise with others, think critically about their role in society, and pursue lives filled with purpose and meaning.

By exploring big ideas and real-world issues — whether local, national, or global — our students become creative problem-solvers, reflective thinkers, and compassionate leaders, fully equipped with the skills and character to thrive at every stage of life.
