Leigh Academy Hundred of Hoo is incredibly proud of its Year 13 students, who are collecting their hard-earned A Level and vocational results today. These are the best results in the school’s history in both Academic and Applied qualifications, with a record number of students celebrating the highest possible grades. For the many students who came to collect results from the academy this morning, last night’s anxious wait for results was rewarded by well-deserved excitement, happiness and celebration!
The academy’s inaugural cohort of T-Level students graduated in Education and Early Years, which is a new vocationally-linked qualification enabling students to become specialist early years practitioners. This pioneering course blends academic lessons with workplace experience, and it embodies the principles of a high-quality vocational education that is much valued and promoted by the current government. Over their course, students became integral members of their workplaces, with nursery children even coming along to say their own individual goodbyes to students on their last day in sixth form. T-Level congratulations are extended to: Alina (B, M), Lucy (A, P), Lana (B, P), and Poppy (C, M).
Principal Carl Guerin-Hassett paid tribute to students’ tremendous work ethic and resilience saying, “these results are the consequence of the dedication of students and their teachers, who have worked collaboratively and tirelessly to ensure that we all keep getting better; we are proud to show that Atlas College equips students so well for their highly successful futures, ensuring that they achieve an impressive average of C grade at A Level and an average Distinction grade in vocational subjects. We wish all our Year 13 students every success with their exciting futures – don’t forget to keep in touch!”
90% of students are eligible for their first choice university, and a record-breaking 15% of university-bound students are heading for prestigious Russell-Group institutions.
